Description

Her full name is Aamia of the Katros, Who Speaks with Shells. It's a mouthful, but the earned name is a sign of prestige among her people so she uses it with pride.

It's origin is this:

Aegia, the creating force of the world, gives Gifts to the "Children," with each race having a first (default, no Gift), second (rare, though default for dragons), and third (one per generation or less) tier Gift. Aamia is a Third Tier of her race, the Bornatuks. It is the ability to hear the voices of fallen stars. Stars, when they for one reason or another get tired of living in the realm of stars, may choose to fall and live on Aegia. Their consciousnesses are housed in empty seashells, and the stars get to observe life among more tactile, transient creatures, which they typically find fascinating or at least whimsically entertaining. Aamia finds and sometimes befriends these fallen stars, and if they ask her to carry them along to witness her tribe and their travels, she happily obliges and carries them in pockets, on her staff, or on her necklace (that's Noot, her favorite).
