Description Between the disaster at rehearsal, the brief arrest, and the trek home, the Sewaddle and Sneasel were exhausted from their attempt at filling in at the magic show. Both flopped down onto the bed.

"So…how…was it?" asked the Purrloin lying on the other bed. After the damage done to his ribs in the battle with Sorbet, Sly had been confined to bed rest. He had improved in the past few days, but he still couldn't move comfortably and he wheezed while talking. His eyes were as bright as usual, and his tail moved waved a bit.

Ice turned her head toward the other Dark type and groaned. "Did it look like it was fun?" she growled.

"It was an interesting experience," said Leilani. "One that we probably can't repeat again due to some legal documents Miss Anana wants to discuss with Master Devonshire. In the mean time, Master Devonshire requested that the two of us attempt another mission."

"The…garbage…one?" asked Sly, his ears twitching.

"Eeeewwwww, it's the dump," whined Ice. "I wanna beat up whoever dumped the stuff, not pick it outta the trash."

"I guess it's the cooking mission then," said Leilani.

"Ok! Ya know what that is, Lei?"

"Oh dearie, this may be just as bad as the casino."

"We got most of the food a few days ago," said Dmitri. The Zangoose had been standing outside the castle drawbridge, looking for teams to help out. Apparently, the only task Soba wanted Dmitri to work on was gather ingredients. "But Soba is low on some stuff. We didn't get enough flour, and a lot of the fruit wasn't good enough."

"There's different kindsa flowers. What kind do we need?" asked Ice.

"I don't know. Soba's been too busy to answer."

"We'll have to deal with that later," said Leilani. "You've already taken teams to the ranch for fruit, correct? Perhaps the Creeping Forest may yield something. Not as high quality, but some of it may still be fresh."

"Yeah, I know the forest well, there should be some places deep in the forest that still have some!" shouted Ice. "C'mon!"

The three Rogues wandered the forest for a while. They found a few trees that were full of berries that hadn't quite spoiled; Dmitri would smash into those with Double Edge to get as many berries to fall to the ground as possible. Once that was done, Ice would climb up and pick the berries that hadn't fallen while Leilani sorted the berries into bags, which she labeled as "good," "might be good," and "if we get really desperate." Sadly, the last one filled up the fastest.

Eventually, Ice had lead them to every tree she knew that had berries, as well as several areas of the forest she wasn't familiar with. They had gotten a decent supply of berries, although very few of them were without discoloration.

"Okay, they're all sorted?" asked Leilani crawling over the bags. The other two groaned.

"We still need to find flour," said Dmitri.

"What kind has he liked the best?"

"Well, a few teams brought in these big brown bags with powder in it. Soba likes that more than the regular flowers."

"What was the powder like?"

"I dunno. Soba doesn't let me in the kitchen. When I come he gets this odd look and tries to make me go away. I had fun the one time he let me cook."

"Well, I couldn't find any flowers in the forest when we were looking," added Ice. "They must have all gone when the snow came."

"But Dmitri said Soba doesn't want regular flowers," said Leilani. "Dmitri, do you know anyone besides Soba who can cook? All I know how to do is make tea, and that's the same for a lot of Sapling Village."

"Just Soba," replied the Zangoose.

"Lei! Lei! Lei!" shouted Ice.

"Let's drop off those berries and try asking around, someone has to know how to cook," said Leilani. "What is it Ice?"

"Could ya explain cookin'?"

"Oh, I can!" said Dmitri. "I helped Soba one time. You take water, heat it until it bubbles, then put the food in it. Or you shove the food into a box of fire. They come out really limp and wet or black and stiff or sometimes they explode like a Geodude."

Ice stared at him for a long time. "That started to sound like the weird stuff the fluffy monkey on Silver's team does to their food, but it never looked like that. He calls it 'preparing food,'" said Ice.

"You've had cooked food before?" asked Leilani.

"It didn't look like the cookin' Dmitri described."

"We're close to the castle. You run over and ask Maurice about it. Dmitri and I will work on cutting the bruised parts out of the fruit."

"Kay, seeya later!"

Ice scampered into the castle and wandered the halls. After getting lost a few times, she found where her brother's Merchant team was staying and began knocking on the door. After a few moans and arguments over who would open it, the door swung open to reveal Maurice. "Oh, hello Miss Ice," he said. "Silver, your younger sister is here." The bowtie-wearing Mankey turned back to a Sneasel curled up on the floor.

"Hey, I wanted to talk to ya 'bout that thing ya do to food," said Ice. She hopped over the Mankey's head and closed the door. "Cookin'. Yeah. Don't talk about t' any other Pokémon, but my Guild is helpin' get some food for cookin'-"

"So you can poison your enemies," hissed a Skitty curled on the bed.

"An' anyways we have to get this flour stuff an' none of us know what it is. Lei only makes this tea stuff an' Dmitri just knows it's a powder that comes in bags. An' you do this thing that's like cookin', I think. I dunno Dmitri wasn' too good at explainin' it. What's cookin'?"

"We're not eating here," snapped Coco. "Maurice, go to our house to see if we still have a kitchen."

"Do ya have flour in there?" asked Ice.

"Well-" started Maurice.

"She's not getting anything from our kitchen."

"I was going to explain to her how to cook and tell her to see if there's flour at the Merchant Hub. I'll check on the kitchen when we're done. Now, Miss Ice, do you know what you'll be cooking?"

"Food."

"That's it," said Coco. She stretched and hopped off the bed. "I'm checking on our kitchen, the Spinda's Café, seeing if anyone has a kitchen you can use, anything to avoid her cooking. Silver, come on."

"Why?" he asked. "I don't think Sis can do worse than the Bidoof incident."

"I'm going to look for a kitchen we can use. I don't care if I have to pay PK to cook meals for her and the rest of the guild leaders, as long as I don't have to eat whatever mess she's making." The Skitty left.

"Now anyways, Miss Ice, I'll explain some basic dinner recipes to you while we go to the store." Ice groaned and followed the Mankey out the door.
