Description
So, today I uploaded Corel Painter and started playing with it. I really like the brushes, so much more texture than in Photoshop. Here is a lousy speed paint of the sun (I seriously spent like ten minutes on it, hence I scrapped it).
So yeah, my scrap watchers, what do you think?

Oooh speedpainting! Exciting hahaha. So uh, what makes speedpainting different from, like, regular painting or whatever?
How's Corel Painter? 8D More painty texture is pretty cool~
I guess if I were to change anything, I'd make the sky colors blend in to each other more. I think there was only one time when I saw so many distinct layers like that in the sky when the sky was setting. It reminded me of jello layers my mom used to make when I was a little kid. : )

I'm not entirely sure...I think the difference is that the work is faster and less detail oriented...I'm not sure, but this is definitely speed painting compared to my other stuff.
Very easy to use, but only really worthwhile with a Tablet. All the brushes have a specific texture that corresponds with traditional art media, and they have a neat color blending tool that I should have used.
Yeah, that's kind of inexcusable, I should of thought more about color selection.

Ahhh so not much point if I try out Painter with a mouse, huh? D: Haha the color blending tool sounds pretty neat, I'm looking forward to seeing a piece by you using that! 8D

Maybe there is if you have good mouse control, but you have very few tools, just brushes, eraser, fill bucket, crop, and color eye dropper, and most of them don't work great with a mouse unless you have good control.
Yeah, I'll try to play with it more when I finish some other projects over break (or if the inevitable next digital request on Gaia turns out to be for something with Corel Painter).
