Last night I saw a shooting star
come falling towards the ground.
I watched it spiral through the sky-
it did not make a sound.

I stood in place as it came near.
I watched its form grow bright.
I stood my ground as came for me-
without slightest fear or fright.

The fallen mass fell onto me.
I caught it in my hands.
Its vibrant flame did continue on-
yet not one burn was had.

I stood in place and held it there.
I watched its dazzling light.
Then I raised my arm and threw
it back into the starry night.
