(Not my story. This story was written by , who gave me permission to post it on DA.)

(Here is the first part of the origin story of my CreepyPasta ocs, Sweetie and Sugarplum. I didn’t want the title too long, so it is just The Candy Tree.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Great Grandfather had always told me he hated sweets. Said it drove one of our descendants to disgrace and madness. Grayson Roth.
Not one person in town doesn't know of the Mad Lord Roth. Some say he was cursed to starve, no matter how much he ate, so he only ate cakes and candy, yet remained bone thin.
Others say his madness was a curse by God for killing one of his angels. And yet there is another tale of him being seduced by a witch and loosing the name Roth to them.
Our name is different, but one day I received a large trunk with the name “Roth” carved on the top. I took it inside and opened it. Inside were very curious items.
There was a large white and red striped cape, crumpled wax paper, twigs that smelled like sugar, a ring with a many threads of pink silk tied around it, and two pairs of children’s slippers. At the bottom I found two journals, several drawings of two girls in the first.
I began to read;
"Of all the great mysteries of the misty moors, I have found the greatest in history.
I snuck out to practice with the new bow Father had brought me. When I came upon a hidden path down the hill into the forest, but came across a large cave.
I was so puzzled, as I had never encountered such a cave in my previous explorations. I walked through, and came out into a huge cavern filled with light and warmth. It was like a meadow had been contained inside. Sunlight poured through crevices in the rock. However, my eyes were instead on what was in the middle of the soft grass.
In the very center, standing tall, was a giant white tree. Its bark was striped with grey and its leaves were a bright stained glass green and pink.
But on its many rigid branches were what I easily recognized as candy. There were peppermint sticks, purple and yellow hard candies and many brown, gold and white things I had yet to encounter.
I walked slowly to it and looked up the enormous tree, reaching for an arrow to shoot some treats down and show Father. My brutish cousins would be so envious of me.
I pulled the arrow back, ready to fire, when something slammed into me from behind. I dropped my bow, the arrow clattering uselessly a few feet away. I feared my life was in danger when I was flipped over and landed so hard, my breath left me.
Hands held me down and something settled on my waist. I looked up in fear to see a girl with eyes a deep forest green. Her hair was a bright pink and fell around her shoulders. And her skin was such a pale lily color, I had reason to suspect she was a faerie.
I looked above to see another girl with sun kissed skin and knotted black hair. Her eyes were however, violet as lilacs.
Both wore tattered white cloaks and had dirty feet. I turned back to the pink haired.
I tried to buck her off, of which, I discovered to my great embarrassment, she was a boy. He pushed me back and leaned close to my ear.
“Leave, and never come back.”
He then roared in my face, jumping back and yanking me up. Before I could react, both he and the girl shoved me to the tunnel and screeched like cats.
I was so startled I took off running and didn’t stop until I reached the grounds of our castle.
I collapsed at steps, servants rushing to me. All I could think of was…
He smelled so sweet…”
"As much as I tried, I could not forget those children, and after months of fretting, finally found the courage to go back to the cave. I decided to give them presents; a comb, blankets, and an instrument called a harp. I took some of my old clothes and a few old dresses my sister discarded, as winter was drawing close. The children looked thirteen springs. My age.
I quickly snuck out after breakfast and found the cave. Before entering the cavern, I peeked from behind a few large rocks.
The two were nestled on different branches, basking in the morning light. The dark haired girl sat up and started to sing.
Never had I heard such a beautiful voice, but when her companion joined, I was moved to tears. Their song seemed to coax the tree to sway slightly, dropping many treats. Yet the song didn’t stop.
I walked out and it halted. The children stared at me until the pink haired boy gave a hiss. I dropped my bag and fell to my knees as he ran to me. I felt his breath on my face as her examined me, still hissing. He stopped and sat on his haunches as the girl dragged away my pack.
“Why are you here?”
“I…I wanted to see you again…”
“Did you?” He leaned close to me, looking me up and down. My cheeks warmed from this, my heart thumping, yet not in fear.
“You are kind, mannered.” He said simply.
“Thank you-”
“Sweetie! Look! Clothing!” A sweet voice chirruped.
He moved much like an cat, always crouching and walking mostly on fours like a creature. He lifted the dress, felt it, sniffed it. He then looked at me.
“You bring gifts…”
“Yes. Its getting colder. So I brought warmer clothing…your name is…Sweetie?” I asked.
“I think so. That’s what he calls me.” He said, looking up at the tree.
“The Tree? It speaks?” I asked.
“Oh, yes. Can’t you hear him? He told me you were good.” He said, smiling.
“I’m sorry. I cannot hear him.”
“Do not worry. He still likes you. You know I’m Sweetie, this is Sugarplum, my cousin.” He said, holding the girl’s shoulder. She grinned brightly.
“Are you Faeries?” I asked.
“We don’t know. We were born here.” Sugarplum said. “The Tree tended us.”
“What is your name?” Sweetie asked.
“Grayson. Grayson of house Roth.”
The next seven years were those of bliss.
I would sneak out when I could, to be with Sweetie and Sugarplum. I taught them many things; reading, writing, even eloquent manners. Truly I was happy.
I brought along my sister during the second year, Lila, who became the best of friends with Sugarplum, dancing and singing for hours.
Yet in those years, I discovered something much more beautiful with Sweetie. I found an affection for his gentle touches, happy embraces, kind words.
I believe I had fallen in love. And with a male fae. Who had confessed he loved me back.
But as much as I wanted life to continue in sweet isolated bliss, I was faced with reality.
I was told to be married to my cousin’s step sister, Anna . And that I was to take over the castle and lands. I knew it’d be impossible to visit the cavern. But I decided to visit one last time. To say goodbye.
That decision would prove to be my undoing.”
"In my urgency to see Sweetie and Sugarplum, I had been careless. I wish I had been more cautious.
I had made it to the tunnel and ran into the cavern. The cousins were resting on their branches, but Sweetie sat up as soon as entered.
He smiled and ran to greet me. But that smile vanished once I told him the news. Yet, he was not angry. His eyes were filled with sorrow and I wanted to kiss it away. I sat at the foot of the tree, holding him until sleep took us.
Our slumber was interrupted by shouts and Sugarplum screaming. We jolted awake to see a group of men, one holding my sister by her neck.
Lila cried that Anna had seen me leave and followed, seeing me with Sweetie. She had ran to her brother, who had gathered his friends to burn down the tree and its guardians.
But first, my cousin, the brutish Justin, took out a knife and slit my sister’s throat. That was enough for the otherworldly guardians to attack. Using teeth and claws, they attacked. So fast were they I could not keep eyes on them. I grabbed my bow and arrows, trying to shake off Lila’s death and at least defend our friends.
But before I could make another move, a loud screech filled the cavern. I turned and saw the white tree aflame, Anna holding a torch to the roots and branches. The tree was burning, its dying screams echoing around us, maybe the whole land.
I saw Sweetie start tearing at the remaining men as Sugarplum ran at Anna and tackled her. I felt a blow to the back of my head. Justin stood over me, a grin on his face as he rose his axe. I shut my eyes.
Blood splattered on my face as I was dragged up. I opened my eyes, seeing all the men and Anna’s bodies…mutilated. Covered in blood, howling, were the cousins, nails like witches, teeth like knives, eyes pools of black. In my fear, my stupidity struck.
I pulled back and arrow…and it struck Sugarplum in the throat. Sweetie looked at me, green pupils staring in disbelief and betrayal. He roared at me as his cousin fell. I got up and ran, fire and furious roaring at my back.
I returned to the empty and burned out cavern every year since then.
But I never saw my beloved again.
I hear tales of a man and woman who travel and reward good children. Yet the wicked ones disappear in the same night.
I am dying. This is my last confession. My love is out there. I only wish to find him and tell him I’m sorry.”
After reading, I looked out the window to see two shapes making their way from the graveyard. I saw them walk down a path that led to the village, dressed in deep grey cloaks. One had a pink scarf that blew in the wind. They soon disappeared into the fog.
I ran down to the graveyard to see our keeper eating a cupcake. He was an old and senile man. Sitting in the doorway of an unmarked tomb, he tipped his hat.
I peeked in the tomb, seeing a stone coffin with candy and cakes piled on soft knitted scarves of many bright colors.
"Who did this?" I demanded.
"Twas those two Roths, Grayson and Lila." He answered, licking his fingers.
"Grayson and Lila Roth died centuries ago!" I scoffed.
"That’s their names, Sir." He said, taking out a butterscotch. "Come every few years to visit Lord Roth. Must be distant cousins. Always bringing sweets. Strange looking pair. Pink hair and purple eyes. Sweet children though."
I gulped and realized something as the grave digger popped the candy in his mouth, walking away to continue his work. Out of the red cloak, I saw not a pink scarf. But pink hair…
