Hair- Strawberry blonde, long. Goes down to the small of her back. Wavy.

Eyes- Red

Skin color- White. Appears to glow faintly when powers are active.

Race- Immortal bird of fire

Height- 5 foot 7 inches

Other- There are wings on her back, and due to their color onlookers would assume her for an angel. She has difficulty flying in this form.

(Phoenix form)

A bird roughly the size of a falcon, with primarily white feathers. Some feathers, mostly around the face and chest, are bright red and orange. When she lights her body on fire, the flames appear platinum because the fire tends to be the same color as her feathers. When alight her whole body- beak to claw- is covered in flames.

Background description:

Emma, was an ordinary bird initially. A Red Crossbill. She was a small bird kept as a pet by a woman in her late twenties. Born and raised in captivity, she was unfit for the wild and comfortable with humans. Her life was spent primarily inside a cage, and time outside being handled by her owner or a vet. That was the basis of her existence. A pretty creature kept behind bars to look at. Having no knowledge of life outside that, she was as content as she could be.

This changed, when a particular little girl decided she was lonely. Sally, or as she called herself "The Faerie", was lonesome without a companion in her life. Missing her deceased family, and afraid of befriending someone who in time would die and leave her behind, she decided to make a wish on her own magic. She knew the price. To gain a friend, someone else had to lose one. As fate would have it, the woman who owned Emma had been a childhood friend of Sally's.

The magic acted in favor of its owner, and Emma was struck down. One must lose so the other could gain. Emma the Red Crossbill was destroyed, and in turn she was reborn as the very thing Sally needed. A friend who would stay by her side through eternity. One who would not die and leave her behind. Emma transformed into a Phoenix. A bird who come death would be reborn from its own ashes to carry on in life.

From there, it was all a matter of developing an attachment to the child. Sally, despite having existed more than thirty years, was still a child of body and of mind- to a degree. She was smart and accepting of the darkness of the world, but still held the imagination and sense of wonder as she had prior to death. Still sweet, still gentle. Just, calm and accepting in the face of darkness. Unaffected by the evils of the world.

Needless to say, Emma quickly developed a motherly attachment to the girl. Yes, they became friends- but the Phoenix also became guardian. She cared for Sally, who in turn gave her the honest love she'd missed out on in her original existence. The magic did its job, and then some.

The transformation:

Through Sally's magic, Emma died only to be reborn as a Phoenix. Her size, color, and overall being changed as result. She holds memories of her original life, and despises it.

What she does now:

Emma primarily acts as guardian to Sally. She does everything a mother would do, to the best of her capability. Despite basically living on the streets, the pair are happy together.

With targets:

Typically, Emma only attacks people she deems a threat to Sally. Anyone who has attacked, or learned of their true existence is met with a death by flames. She namely lights herself on fire, flies into the targets house, attacks them, and burns the building to the ground. Victims who are found in tact are covered in scorch marks shaped like her feet and beak, from her attacking them to keep them inside the burning building.

Other:

-Emma mostly chirps to be vocal, but screeches like an angry owl when attacking someone.

-The ashes left behind whenever Emma is reborn are fertile enough to make a tree grow through concrete in a matter of weeks.

-Emma will take human form to rock Sally to sleep, among other reasons.

-In human form, due to her weight and shape, Emma cannot properly fly. The most she can do is hover in the air. The wings are otherwise useless. Granted, they've been put to use with helping her jump.

-She tends to steal foods from buildings she can sneak into. The food is shared between her and Sally.

-She does not get along with other animals- or anyone aside from Sally for that matter.

-Easily falls asleep when the back of her neck is scratched.
