Description
This pertains only to those who are listed as having tickets.You have arrived at the Iyore International Airfield.. To start your Expedition, you are required to check in with the ticket agent before March 7, 15:00 MT.
- You can do this by posting a new comment on the ship deviation. Do not post any other original comments; all replies and roleplay will take place as replies to your original comment. Anything posted as a new comment will be ignored.

Plane Demographics:
This plane contains five rows of seats; two seats in each row, one on either side of the aisle. All seats are window seats.
There are five attendants on the plane. You may converse with any of them at any time.
You must remain in your seat for the duration of the flight. The attendants will help you safely disembark once the plane has landed.
You may talk to other characters indirectly. If you have a message to pass to another player character, pass your message through an attendant.

You have officially arrived at the airfield in the grassy midlands of Soran. A welcoming crew meets you as you disembark from the aircraft. There is a man waiting for you at the bottom of the stairway. “Welcome to Soran! I have a number of people waiting behind me who can take you to a different part of Kitue to explore. But first I need to know; which direction do you wish to travel?”
Please choose one of the following: North/Northeast/Northwest/East. Or, if you have a particular guide in mind, choose them.

"well, I actually have someone specific in mind." I said, "if you don't mind. Do you think I could join Kaiga? I hear that she traps Ghigers and Quims, and one of the bears is what I'm after." I smile.

Welcomer: "Of course! Kaiga is shorter woman over at the back of the group. There, that one, the one with the spear on her back. Off you go then!"

"alright, thank you!" I reply to the man, before heading off in the direction of the guide. I look her over quickly, taking note of the serious expression on her face, and the spear on her back. She was shorter than me, but no less formidable looking because of it. I stop in front of her. "Hi." I say, "I'm Bramble. I heard on the plane that you could help me catch a Ghiger."

Kaiga: "Hello Bramble. A ghiger, hm?" She looks you up and down. "Are you sure you're up for that?"

i felt slightly insulted, but tried my best not to show it. "Absolutely." I reply. "I'm tougher than i might look."

Kaiga turns without a word and starts running north. She's a tough person to crack, with unbelievably high standards. You're going to have to keep up with her.

"alright." I mutter quietly, then take off after her. I didn't know quite where we were going, but i followed her.
The island was beautiful though, i had to admit that. I wished that we could slow down a little and have a look at all the plants and animals that I hadn't seen before. But that wasn't why i was here. I needed to find my Ghiger.

Kaiga comes to a stop on the northern beach of Soran. She waits for you to come to a stop beside her.
Kaiga: "I have a few questions for you. First, I hope you don't have a fear of water. Second, can you swim?" She waits on your answer. In the meantime, she has taken off her sandals and slipped them behind her belt.

"No, I'm not afraid of water. I can swim just fine, although I'm not particularly fast at it." I reply. I look at the waves and breath in the salty air. I loved beaches, and spent time playing in the waves as often as possible. I hadn't been out in deep ocean water yet though.

Kaiga "Good." Without a further word, she wades out into the water, motioning for you to follow her. You get in to about your armpits when Kaiga suddenly dives under the water. She didn't tell you to do the same, so you remain partially dry; at least for now. You hear a strange noise coming from the water; Kaiga is singing. After a few moments, she comes back to the surface and points out in the distance. Something is moving towards you in the water! She watches you to see your reaction.

I shade my eyes with my left hand and squint, trying to see what was coming towards us. I couldn't clearly define the shape though, and run my fingers though my hair, puzzled. "What is that?" I finally ask, uncomfortable in my ignorance.

Kaiga shows no emotion to your reaction, but you know she is judging you. In the meantime, that thing in the distance has turned into several things and they are getting very close to you...
Kaiga: "These are delsi. They are our ticket to Ea. When one swims by you, grab onto its dorsal fin and hold on tight." A red fin flashes by Kaiga's hand and in an instant she is off, being pulled out into the sea. Two fins get close to you, a yellow one and a green one. Which one do you grab?

"Delsi." I say, suddenly getting it. The yellow fin stands out most prominently in the blue water, and that is the one that I instinctively grab, holding tight like Kaiga said. I know that I am going to be just soaked through with salt water.

The yellow finned delsi gets super excited and takes off after Kaiga. After a few seconds of skipping across the surface you are suddenly pulled underwater as the delsi dives. A swift change in direction nearly makes you lose your grip on the fin, but you manage to hang on as the delsi hurtles surface-wards again. You break the surface and fly five few above the water before the delsi splashes back down and behaves. In the distance, you can here Kaiga laughing.

"I knew I was going to get wet!" I say, wiping water from my eyes with my free hand. "But that was fun." I wonder briefly if it was possible to steer the Delsi in the direction I want to. I look to where Kaiga is floating with the red one. "That was fun!" I reiterate, smiling. "Do you know how fast the Delsi can swim?"

Kaiga: "They can swim fast enough to tear any rider off!" Your ride hasn't taken very long and already the beach of Ea is coming into view.

I pet the Delsi goodbye and wade through the salt water to shore, wringing out my shirt as I go, mostly because the water made me feel heavy. Maybe next time I was in the islands, I would come for a Delsi. I turn to Kaiga, wondering what came next. If it was anything like the delsi ride, I knew it would be interesting.

Kaiga spends a few minutes looking around and drying off.
Kaiga: "The bears are most active in the early hours of the morning; we're going to have to kick back and relax for a bit. I have a hut not far from here." She starts walking east from where you landed, expecting you to follow.

I do follow her of course, pulling my wet curls out of my face and tying them up in a bun. I couldn't wait for morning.

Kaiga shows you her hut; it's simple, just two bedrolls and a small trunk that you don't doubt contains more knives or other implements of destruction than it does food. She surprises you by lifted a section of the floor and taking out two chunks of smoked meat and a couple of seapples. It doesn't take long for Kaiga to get a fire started. You spend the night listening to her tell stories about her adventures. She calls for you to turn in early, tomorrow is going to be an early start.

I fall asleep quickly, hoping that early start wouldn't mean three hours sleep early start. I had been a pretty long, rather exciting day today.

Kaiga shakes you awake just as the first hints of sunlight are coming up over the water. There's a slight morning mist hanging over the low shrubs and there is a cacophony of noises coming from the thick forest a little ways off. When you have woken, Kaiga gives you a quick breakfast of high-energy grain bar and tells you to sit.
Kaiga: "Now, you have to know that the bears on this island can be quite ferocious. Before we head out, you need to decide what colour of fur you want your bear to have. The bears in the forest have green or brown fur, the grassland bears have yellow or brown fun and the beach bears have grey or beige fur."

I pause for a moment to consider, then say " I think I'd like to have a bear with yellow or brown fur most, so, the grasslands would be best." I finish the grain bar and slip on my boots.

Kaiga: "Excellent, we hunt the bushes then. What is your hunting strategy to be?"

"I'm not sure if i understand the question." I reply slowly. "I have no experience with bears at all, so i don't know what the best way to find them would be." I shrug apologetically.

Kaiga: "Oh no, I'll be the one finding the bear. But you are the one who is going to have to fight it."

"Oh, i see." I frown. "I've never even seen a bear before, let alone fought one." I pause and ponder for a moment. "I'm not particularly large or strong though, so i don't think wrestling with a bear is quite an option. Is it?" I turn toward her. "Are bears really strong? Are they fast? Is it possible for me to knock one out? Are bears easily tricked?" I pause for breath.

Kaiga: "My! So many questions! Wrestling is not mandatory with a qhim, they're a bit more easy going than a ghiger. But it is a ghiger you want, yeah? They are pretty strong..."

"I just need to know the best way to catch something without getting hurt." I reply. "I do want a ghiger, but if we come across a qhim I would hesitate to catch it too. I love the bears." I pause and take a deep breath. "Are either species very aggressive? Here, we can set out now, and I'll think on the way there. Is that okay?"

Kaiga settles a pack on her shoulders and grabs a pole that she uses for a walking stick. Her voice drops to a whisper.
Kaiga: "Best way to catch something without getting hurt is to be prepared. But I don't have time to give you a full lesson on wrestling, so a few pointers will have to do: one, never find yourself on your back; that's a bad position to be in. Two; bigger is better. Both bear species are aggressive when threatened, which, when your aim is to catch one, is guaranteed. As for catching one or the other; they both leave different footprints, so you might have to decide fairly soon."

I follow her lead and lower my voice. "Alright. One last question then. How would you initiate a, I don't know what you'd call it. A fight?"

Kaiga: "You won't have to. You just have to finish it." Kaiga stops you suddenly and point to the ground. "I told you that your choice would have to be soon. These tracks," she points to faint marks to the left, "are qhim prints. Those over there," she now points to the right, "are ghiger prints."
Which way will you go; left or right?

"alright. Lets go after the qhim." I reply quickly. "Left."

Kaiga quickly darts down the left path, which leads down into a shallow valley in the rolling lands. The bushes here a bit thicker, and you can faintly hear something creeping through them. Kaiga puts a finger to her lips, silently telling you to be quiet. She crouches down in the bushes and waits... a darker coloured qhim moved partially into view, eating some of the berries from the bushes. Kaiga turns back to you and gives you a questioning look. The qhim isn't the colour you were looking for.
Do you stay with the dark qhim or return to the trail and follow the ghiger?

I don't hesitate. Motion that I would like to stay with the quim, even if it wasn't the color I was looking for, surprises are nice when They come around.

I nod and sneak slightly closer. The Qhim perks up, like it had noticed me. I step forward, ready to "get in there and get that qhim' s respect"

The qhim does indeed notice you; its fur starts to stand up and suddenly the qhim looks huge. It starts to hiss, slowly backing away from you. It does not move to attack you.

I stood up to my full height, making myself look larger. I was beginning to gain some confidence I what I was doing, though it was likely misplaced. I stepped toward the qhim.

Once you step forward, the qhim scuttles back a few steps and emits a high growl.

I frown .it seems that this qhim was a bit more skittish than I thought it would be.

Kaiga laughs softly at you. The qhim has stopped backing away and growling; its mouth has opened into a terrifying smile and the hissing begins again.

I quickly decide that I prefer the growling. Hissing didn't seem... natural... for a bear. I set my feet carefully, making sure that if the creature lunged at me, I would have enough balance to not be bowled over.

Forgive me, things got a little chaotic again. And we need to pick up the pace as the 20th is approaching quickly. X3
The qhim still doesn't appear to make any sort of move towards you. Perhaps qhims are defensive creatures that wait for their opponent to make the first move?

Alright, can do. 
I consider that line of thinking. It made sense of course. I take a deep breath, then make a lunge for the Qhim' s head. I figured that if I could get it in a good headlock, I might be able to put it down, to the ground. I succeed in getting my arms around its furry neck in the initial moments of surprise.

The qhim panics and begins to flail, desperately trying to get you off of its neck. The growls and hisses have become mews now as the qhim is scared. Eventually it stops struggling and sits in your arms shaking a little.

I loosen my grip slightly, unsure if I could let it go entirely yet. It could breathe properly, at least. I glance back to my guide.
"Okay," I say softly.

The qhim calms down a little bit more; it recognises you as stronger than it. Kaiga stands up and throws a handful of cranberries down to the qhim as a treat.
Kaiga: "Congratulations. See, that wasn't that hard was it? The qhim is yours!" Kaiga leads you back to Soran and makes arrangements for your new friend.
This signifies the end of your Expedition! Thank you for participating, your new friend will join the Springs when the plane returns to the mainland.
