This is more of a picture talking to the viewer and is seriously a deep photo with a deep meaning. The trooper is on the western front in WW1 and is going strong and looks over at the other trooper, who is the viewer and tells them to come along with him and they both can get to victory together. He shows his hand reaching to hold yours - the viewer - and guides you safely across the trenches and in no mans land to keep you alive and well. Despite the scary appearance he has, he has a warm and soft tone to make you feel safe and to trust him in the dark and grey background that he has navigated for so long.
