Kingdom Hearts belongs to Square Enix and Disney.Kinda large rant. But it's all solid. I got peeved at the Xion haters.

I just had to say that. I don't know why they have to call her Mary Sue.
It sickens me... I was giddy with excitement when I heard that there was a new member in the Organization. I waited and waited until they released the first picture of her. I instantly liked her because she looked just like Kairi, and I like Kairi and her Nobody Naminè.
I still love Xion. She's a favorite of mine.

She's okay...the only problem with her is her appearance. Her face is just like Kairi's, except they cut out kairi's hair and replaced it with a short, black bob. :/

the only reason she looks like Kairi is because thats how Roxas perceives her. Xigbar sees Ventus when he looks at Xion. Saix sees nothing but a faceless doll. She essentially looks how one wants her to look at her. Axel sees Xion like Kairi because he wants to see her from Roxas's point of view. Everything in the damn game is explained, if in retcon fashion, if you just slow down to read the journals or some of the text.

Those aren't the reasons people think she's a Mary Sue.
They think she's a Mary Sue because she's every fangirl's self-insert wet dream. Keyblade wielder, bffs with Roxas and Axel, the 14th member of Organization XIII. Pick any crappily written self-insert OC fic on ff.net, and I swear it will sound suspiciously like Xion.
I've only heard people pick on the hair in comparison to Tetsuya Nomura's, which I think is pretty funny. They are quite similar. Personally, I don't mind it, I just think it's a relatively unstyled neutral blob so that fangirls can project on her better.
Do I think Xion is a Mary Sue? Yes. Did I try to play the game with the most open mind possible? Yes. Did I not mind her until about half way through? Yes also. However, the evidence really is stacked against her.

I don't think you can really count Xion as a Mary Sue, but those were the reasons I thought of immediately. You have me thinking-I shall have to compare and contrast her to a once upon a time self insert.

I dont think Roxas has ended badly but on evrything else I agree. I love Xion she is really strong in my opinion. (PS to people who dissagree with me concernig Roxas: No Im not going to debate on Roxas having a good a medium ore a bad end we all have different opinions on that lets keep it that way it makes the world more interresting XD)
In all truth I love Xion lots more than I do Roxas. Riku is my 1 fave though. I also like Reno better than Axel (even though they are almost the same XD and yes I know Reno isnt in KH)

I admit that the first times I also got the feeling of a Mary Sue, but that vanished more and more when I played the game.
One interesting fact here, Xion could be replaced by all Org. XIII Fanmembers here on DeviantArt because every Member of the Organization can see something else in her - so why complaining? XD

I always wondered though....what was the purpose of making a Kairi with Sora's abilities?
I got two theories, to emphatize the fact that the one thing that makes Sora keep going is Kairi....
....Or two, that while she may have faded in Sora......she was mostly meant to be a link for Kairi, call it a link to his memories, his feelings, his abilties, hell, if we want to be creative, we might as well want to include Sora's own darkness and make it Kairi's as well. All this talk about hearts being united and all that mumbo-jumbo considered, perhaps that is Xion's true purpose, to connect Kairi and Sora on an even deeper level, and with Namine's influence, getting those memories ain't gonna be that hard....

I wanted an Organization 13 game ever since theyfirst appeared.And assoon as they made one, it becameall about Xion, not the Organization. One last arguement people make: she breaks up the Akuroku. First, maybe in Axel's dreams, or maybe his nightmares. Axel and Roxas are not going to perform yaoi just because the fanbase is begging and threatening to kill people for it. Second, if we just go along with it, I tel the fangirls that Xion not only doesn't get in the way, she videotapes the "goodness". Fangirls not only should not beat up poor XIV's nonexistrance, they should be THANKING her! ^^

Thank you! I hate seeing the phrase "Mary-Sue" tossed around for Xion. Besides the fact they're misusing the term, their reasons for her being a Mary-Sue are so shallow. So using a Keyblade and being friends with Roxas means your a Mary-Sue? pft.
I think the real reason most of the Xion haters don't like her is that they're RoxasxNamine or RoxasxAxel fans and are butthurt that Days tried to pair him up with someone other than their OTP.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of Axel/Lea. The reason people liked him so much in the first place was because he was an awesome bastard villain, now they've not only completely changed his character arc but are making him one of the most prominent characters.

And I'm all like.. Guys, have you even played the other Kingdom Hearts games? o__0 I personally think anyone who enjoys Kingdom Hearts as it is has given up their right to complain about bad story.
I think people are inclined to be skeptical of her because she's "Number 14," which is something we're sick of seeing in fanfictions and makes us roll our eyes. People have been looking for reasons to dislike her ever since that info came out.
