While I like the effort and project, I just dont think the D&D alignments work very well here. I would have to say Chaos is definately Chaotic Evil, and Dark Eldar would be Neutral Evil. I would put Eldar as Chaotic Neutral and the Imperium as Lawful Evil. At best Tau are Neutral Good, at best, most likely Lawful Neutral.
Never liked the alignment system, its too absolute.

Also, I'd say all factions are evil overall. They all kill out of bigotry, hatred, desire to conquer, bloodlust, boredom, unthinking zealotry, or casual cruelty. Most have little regards for the lives of their men and none for the enemy. There are good people in some factions, but in the grimdark grim darkness of the 41st grimdark millenium, there is only grimdark grimdark.

I think everyone's various evil, except Orks and Chaos who are chaotic neutral, some spess mehrens who can be practically anything, and necrons/nids who are true neutral.
The Chaos gods aren't made solely out of evil emotions y'know, and the necrons and tyranids can't really be said to have true free will.

Orkz are clearly Lawful Good, they have a deep need to combat their enemies, and will fight the villainous races til the bitter end

Chaos is chaos. Sure. But chaos is just a warmachine under a bigger purpose. They are driven by the greater will of the chaos gods. They don't usually kill things in any other purpose than to please the gods and eliminate their enemies.
Dark eldars torture and curse their enemies until the life in their eyes disappear. And mostly just because it's fun. That, and territory/resources. There's the difference.
The only thing I'd like to switch is maybe Sisters of battle and Eldars. Mostly because of the carefree nature of the Eldar and the more chaotic and fanatic way of the sisters of battle. Eldars care for their own kind and just wants order, nevermind if someone else gets killed.
The sisters of battle purges everything in blind faith, a little like the space marines, only more vicious and mad. Fits the chaotic part perfectly.

Chaos cultists and space marines serve the Chaos Gods, the behaviour of what is now the Dark Eldar created one.

I much agree with this decision of the Artist, the Chaos Space Marines themselves don't act according to Chaotic methods, they are organized and follow the Gods in respect. The Dark Eldar (Though I don't know much of them) Act on their own whims.
