Simple title no need to glam it up really lol

So this is the first of some of the new stuff I'm gonna be doing. Sure, it's still animals lol but from a totally different end of the page. First thing's first, have to apologise for the quality of the lines. As I said in my journal, the scanner's not currently available so I had to result to taking a photo on my mobile phone Then had the arduous task of cleaning up the photo enough so that I could use it. Spose that's something to be proud of, think I done an alright job lol.

So onto the piece itself! For those unfamiliar with it, it's a sketch of Matthias, the main character in the first of Brian Jaques fantastic Redwall books. I kinda got the burn to draw this pic cos looking around the net, there just doesn't seem to be much Redwall related artwork and whilst I'm by no means the greatest artist out there, I thought that if I can't find much then I should make some . It was rather hastily coloured so it aint the most polished piece of work but I've tried to give it a kinda chalk pastel on parchment look. On the left is obviously the pic in colour and the pencils on the right.

This is really a pic of Matthias as he appears towards the end of the book. He's always described as wearing a green habit but I thought that by the time he's gone through all his ordeals, his habit would be torn to shizzy and kinda blood stained, so I figured the Gousim Shrews would have found the largest of their garments they could and given it to Matthias as a gift. Looking at the pic now, I realise I forgot to draw in his scabbard lol. Spose once the scanners working I can add the scabbard and scan in a better version of the pic.
