one of my best friends. he's from Israel, speaks with an extremely enjoyable accent and... thanks to me, he likes to say "dude!" with a high exclamation and it's just so funny every time he says it.
anyway, I really liked this photo. I take a lot of photos but I submit very few and I felt like this was deviantART worthy.

This photograph really seems to capture the personality of your model; there's something about the close-contact feel to this that makes it almost seem as if he is standing in front of me at this very moment, haha! His eyes really draw me in too. Wonderful portrait

Beautiful picture! I don't like all the pessimistic comments people give you for this; I think it's gorgeous and definitely deserved a DD! He's very handsome, and has eyes I wish I could have.

Ah well to me a DD it's like a feature from a gallery director for everyone to see, not a prize or anything, just as if some random deviant featured art in their journals or news article hehe...plus the fact that we all see art in our own way. Probably I'm wrong with this statement, who knows.
As for the picture I like the closeup and the light, whenever I take a pic of my face it looks so shiny and what not so I'd have to use some powder or I don't know what to get rid of the shine xD...anyway...I'd like to say those are beautiful, strong and expressive eyes

I think the depth of field should be extended slightly as his eyes aren't in sharp focus. And they would really make the picture pop more if they were (imo)

Well, the focus is off (which is the most important element in portrait photography) and while the lighting isn't bad it isn't anywhere near remarkable either. So as portraits go, this is average at best.
