Welcome to (my fictional vision of) the Alpha Centauri system of the 30th century. Seated well within the heart of known space, α Cen is a major hub of human civilization and positively bursting with life - a total of six worlds among its planets and moons host thriving biospheres (Silvanus, Feronia, Fortuna, Concordia, Victoria, and Vacuna). However, this present verdancy lies atop a dark history: the system is suffused with ruins of the ancient skgri civilization and the war that ended it, notably the Tellus Ring and Moneta Archive. With a total population of nearly 20 billion, α Cen is one of the most important systems in the United Nations of Humanity .

Some notes:

- None of these celestial objects are real, sadly, and to date there have been no planets confirmed in the Alpha Centauri system. However, the composition, organization, and properties of these bodies have been created with scientific rigor in hopes of making them as plausible as possible.

- In keeping with the tradition of naming major Solar system planets after Roman deities, the worlds of Alpha Centauri follow this naming scheme. This is not true for the rest of known space, but it felt right to at least continue the practice for Sol's nearest neighbor.

- The astronomical symbols of most of the major bodies are, like those of Solar system bodies, based on alchemical symbols. Exceptions are Fortuna, Concordia, and Pax. (See comments for an explanation of each.)

- The biospheres of Victoria, Vacuna, and the Tellus Ring are all descended from that of Hemera, a planet in the nearby Barnard's Star system, and were transplanted by the ancient skgri in their colonization of the system.

- Both Silvanus and Fortuna seem to host species in their protosapient stage, and may one day in the coming tens of millennia bear sophont civilizations of their own.
