I saw this and instantly thought of hte sci-fi book Monoliths! These monolithic and undescrutable structures start to appear all over the earth. (I forget the actual name of the book..)

From the thumb, i thought this was a matte painting and you'd just painted in the background/oblisk over a photo!

i wiil do chris, withdrawn a bit the last month or so (from a lot of places, had a lot going on so have had to concentrate on my kid) and felt a bit guilty just dropping work in and running, sd deserves more effort from me than that, but i shall return properly soon, will post my last few and hopefully be commenting and generally stinking up the place shortly

yup, i'm relying on them a bit too much lately though, being lazy, not so bad when you use them for texture to break up the 'digitalness' of a painting but i'm learning nothing new by sticking them in there, need to get my lazy ass back into the right frame of mind hehe, thanks Marley

Kinda cool that there is so much vegitation in the foreground the almost nothing as your eye gets past the structure. Looks cool!

What I find cool about this one is that the obelisk is such a universal structure, that it looks right at home in this setting. Almost like you could wander through the jungle forever and come across this and be like 'wonder who built it' as opposed to 'what the hell is that doing here?'
