Description
She dropped to unfamiliar, parched, blackened ground, dazed.
Minor flames licked at her dark boots, yet only a soft warmth reached her.
A thunderous beat drummed at her ears, accompanied by flashes of fire.
Black boots stamped across the open flames toward her, breathing life into the inferno.
As she raised her eyes, she saw a great flaming axe of onyx, wielded by a monstrosity.

The creature bore the form of a man, flesh stripped away and legs cloaked only in stygian robes.
A broken mask of petrified wood hung from its wicked skull.
Her sight was met by a desolate gaze within a barren eye socket, from which bellowed hateful flames.
It raised the flaming axe as comets plummeted from beyond a sky the color of coagulated blood.

This goes well with Colru's Theme from Vindictus .

Inspiration for this particular image came while playing around with these two models in Blender, when the theme for Norfair's Ancient Ruins in Super Metroid started playing.
All fire is hand-painted (yay tablet!), and so is most of Lightning's hair, on account of glitchy overbrightened highlights... still not sure why that happened.
