Description
Them's my rats. Well me and ~spongerat 's rats. The gray one's Victor, the white/beige one's Flik.I've been interested in animal photography, so I thought I'd try it out. And not the kind of animal photography that has bad lighting and is only really taken to see how cute your pets are. Though I'm afraid that that's what this is.
So mainly I was wondering... is this any good? I mean honestly. Would anyone find this worth looking at for reasons other then being nice to me? Is this worth moving from the scraps to my photography section?
But on another note. They are just too cute. CUTE!

Hi! I was wondering wether you thinking owning a few rats is expensive? I would really like to get one, but mom goes into rages and says it's really expensive, etc. I already have a cage which is suitable for both guinea pigs and rats, so im pretty much set there.
please reply, thank you so much!

They aren't that expensive. If you're careful, you don't have to buy them special food, you can just feed them table scraps. I say "if you're careful" because they need a balanced diet, so if they are living off table scraps you need to make sure they aren't eating too much/little, and make sure they're getting all the nutrition they need. You can usually find a website that'll tell you what a rat would need in it's diet.
Rats can be time consuming though. If you don't clean their cage regularly (about once a week or more), they can start to smell pretty bad. You don't need to buy special bedding; newspaper works fine. They'll be really friendly if they get out of the cage a few hours each day, but less then that and they'll probably be scared of people.
I will also warn you that most of them will drip pee everywhere they go. It's just kinda what they do.
Well, I hope that long rant helped!
Also, thanks for the fav!

I had rats when I was a little kid, and I can't remember too well but I think it was my parents' idea. Aside from that, the next rats I got was after I moved out. I never really had to persuade them.
Your mom might have other reasons than the price that she's not mentioning. You have to keep in mind that the both of you live under the same roof, and if you get rats, she'll have to deal with them too.
I don't know what your money situation is, but if you offer to pay for all the rat expenses, that might help.
Also, I know it seems like a long time from now, but you could just wait until you move out. If I feel like making a commitment, I usually give it some time before I decide on it, and it helps.
Anyway, good luck!

I don't really know much about photography, but I think this is an adorable picture, and beyond that, is I think a good shot of rats being rats, if that makes sense....anyway, CUTE!

I think you're definitely a step above the cute snapshot people. You can tell there was time put into the focus, framing and background. I'd say maybe work more on lighting and soft focus? This is adorable, though! I love how the closer one's eye is closed; their positioning is really nicely done!
