ok, so how exactly do you make these? do you sketch it first and then run it through a filter? how is this done?

I use photoshop, though I place all pixels by hand. no filters involved, and rarely any sketching usually. Just take a hard brush and get going.

It is a colorful setting, indeed. Keep in mind that the whole thing is double or even tripple pixel, depending on the size of your screen. so details that seem overkill at this size, will look just fine on your huge 42" plasma TV...

It theoretically is. All I would need is a budget. maybe a crowd fund. but currently I am too busy otherwise to persue this. It WILL get made though. it just needs time.
