Description
This ones a little bit out of my forte to be honest. So my friend firestrike2 and I decided to have a little competition. The idea was to start with the same base sketch and then finish the job digitally by our own means and our own method. The idea was to see how we shaded differently. We couldn't decide on one of the two base sketches we were going to start out with. We decided to flip a HallmarkTM birthday card because we couldn't find a coin. My choice was a coyote doodle that I did a while back that I'm still hoping to put on the bottom of a long-board one of these days. The other was one of Firstrike2s characters from the Video game "Champions Online" named Swift. Obviously you can tell which one was chosen. The other part of the competition was that we had to do it non stop, with a deadline set at 6:30 AM... We started the battle around 1:30 AM. I was able to finish at 4:30, but then the computer wouldn't connect to the internet so that was about another half hour wasted waiting for the WiFi to grind into gear.
In all honestly this was really fun to do. I hope to do more like this in the future, it's really exiting to see the differences that we made in out styles and how we can learn from each others work.
This is firestrike2s version of the coloring, (here). he decided to clean up the original line work as well as add more detail to parts of the armor, While I, on the other hand decided to completely re-do the line-work and focused on adding detail in the coloring phase rather than the line-work phase. firestrike2 also seemed to have used brighter colors, while I used darker ones.
