Choosing a roomate, means more than simple choose a partner to live in Dragon City, he/she will be also your Combat Ally, so choose wisely your partner and your element because after choosing it, you wont be able to change it.
Having an element doesnt mean you can`t make lot of different attacks, but all your attacks will be "relative to that element force" so even your water punch, can really hit hard a fire player.
Once you choose your element,
the icon will be added permanently to the Rp Tower ---> [link]

The White arrows show wich elements get Stronger when they are together.
This are the groups.

It would also be that fire gets stronger with air, as it will pretty much 'explode' by spreading faster and so on. Not good at explaining this, could someone else help?

agree with you, but if 2 elements powerup fire, then most people will choose fire element T^T

Earth doesn't really power up fire, just saying. Earth (sand, mud, mold, etc) will moslty extinguish it. Air powers it, earth weakens.
Fire needs three things; it is created by combining a source of heat (spark), oxygen (air) and fuel (petrol), to create a reaction (fire). So air will allow it to 'breathe', like a human would. We will die if we can't breathe for a long time.
