Y'know what I just noticed? All the "Time Skip MLP: X" look like these anthro ponies dressed up in 80's style clothes.

I think I sorta get what it means now. MLP originated in the '80s, so they wear 80's clothes in the 2010's-and-overs, where the present MLP generation is now, and MLP is enhanced more often to look more cuter, then we draw their asses into anthro with said 80's clothes, and vie versa, we have our time skip.
