A friend of mine bought and framed a print of this from the Nekocon art show last year and gave it to me as a present - it's a BEAUTIFUL piece. I love the colors, and the way the stars frame everything and nearly do seem to glow. Wonderful work.

I can't stop staring at this. I love the color variation in the feathers and the inquisitive look of the owl. What a handsome portrait! I'm always amazed at how much detail people can put into feather paintings. I've still been too intimidated to try painting on the surface myself.

Thank you so very much! It is fairly easy once you get the surface down... the skill of the painter is the real key...

I work mostly with watercolors so the process is a little backwards for me! I plan to try it eventually though. :3

I haven't worked in watercolors in a long time but yeah, not a good medium for feather painting! lol! Acrylics are not as difficult as one would think but good luck!

I have a fan from a cousin of mine who is a hunter so I am going to practice on some of the frazzled feathers. It's always great to see things like this on my watch. It gives me encouragement to stop avoiding the things I'm intimidated by when you can get such lovely results!

*Very* purdy. The natural dark color of the feather works especially well with the colors you painted, and the blue-and-tawny contrast is wonderful.

Yay more owl!!!
Looove the detailing, my goodness! I love how the feather shaft becomes the branch that the owl is sitting on. <3

Just beautiful. I love the colouring on this, the Owl is so bright and yet, the night is so dark. It's a beautiful contrast.
