Luke first uses the Water Glyph in "Understanding Willow" in a witches duel with Willow, giving him the win. He explains to Willow how he discovered it during a potion run for Eda while taking shelter from the Boiling Rain. He found the Glyph inside a small puddle of water.

This form was key to COOLING OFF the Inner Willow in her monstrously flaming form. The sword becomes engulfed in water, morphing into an aqua blade with two hooks. Luke is able to douse fiery enemies and blast a variety of others with high-pressured water attacks.
