Description
Kind of a sequel to this:Β ssjgokuvsshinymewtwo.deviantarβ¦I AM OBSESSED WITH PROFESSOR LAYTON HELP.
Okay, this was, again, really fun to draw. Look at Luke snuggling his little friends, so cute ^w^
Next up is Emmy, and I already have her perfect team in mind!
...I rush these and they turn out okay, what the actual fuck is happening to me.
Okay, here are my reasons for picking these pokemon for Luke's team...
1. Swablu has always been pretty underrated to me. Look at that cute wee FACE!! QwQ I was so happy when Altaria got a Mega evolution. Also, his wings are made of cottony cloudy stuff. Can you not imagine how warm and cozy it must be to snuggle up with that thing?! It would make the perfect pet! I'm also trying to give them all flying types, because every good team needs it's birb pokeyman. A snuggly birb for Luke!! SNUGGLY!!
2. Herdier is just so English. My gran used to have a yorkshire terrier named Roxy (rest in peace wee girl <3) She was blind but a very loyal dog, and she just looked so English! (I'm Scottish so meh. Yorkies are just perfectly British doggies <3) And every English schoolboy in the 20s (are the games set in the 20s? I have no idea.) needs his loyal doggy. Luke loves animals, bite me.
3. FURRET. IS SO. CUDDLYYYYY. Moving on.
4. Meowth is the embodiment of childhood mischief. Since Luke is an animal lover, he needed a lil' kitty friend. Whats more suiting than a meowth?
5. And finally, Skiddo. I'm keeping with the theme of riding in these pictures. Because what if a criminal is getting away, and the Professor jumps on his Sawsbuck and rides after him? Luke is gonna have to keep up to avoid getting left behind. He'd have a lil leaf goat to hop on and trot after Layton XD The image is just too cute. Also, they both have leafy steeds! It's perfect! ^^
So yeah. On to Emmy.
Also, if I could have any pokemon as a pet, it would be a shiny Furret. I mean come on. That thing looks like Bagpuss. Except a ferret. THE CUTEST THING I CAN'T EVEN--
All characters belong to Nintendo, I only drew the art.

Awww, this is such a cute idea for a crossover! I love how it's turned out and all the Pokemon choices you've used.
As for the time setting of the Layton games, it's generally up to fan interpretation, but there are a few likely theories. One of the images for Lost Future shows the date on the time machine turning from 1974 to 1984, so a lot of fans go with that (this is my personal fave), in the recently localised World of Professor Layton book the creative team said they imagined the games being "around the 1960s", which is pretty similar, PLvsAA seems to be more in modern-day but I guess you kind of have to regard that one as an AU since the two timeline don't really mesh (AA being set slightly in the future) and I know some fans do like to think of it as modern day, but coming from modern day England myself I've never felt that it was based on the present. Buuut 1920s is just such a tempting timeline, so I love versions that go with that as well. Wow, sorry for geeking out over this, I just rarely have the chance to talk about such things. XD

I know how you feel, sometimes I burst out in rants at the most random times and then feel irritated because nobody knows what I'm talking about XD glad my art could relieve some of that pressure for you XD
