"Come now Taka, I can give you everything your heart desires... if you'll just let me in.""Why is it that I don't believe a word that spews from that evil snout?" Taka turned away from the spirit and limped his body to the cool cave floor.
"Besides, you're just a spirit of trickery and malice. You don't know what I desire, how I feel, now leave me be."
The spirits eyes illuminated a nasty shade of green and a slick grin formed across his face.
"Jealousy. I see jealousy in your heart. Your brother has little time for you now? Now that he has assumed the throne and is getting ready for a family? He has little time for his worthless Taka... Much more important things to attend to... and just think, when his cubs are born you'll be the last thing that's on his mind. You'll just be left here to rot with the mice in this cave... But I can give you more... Just give me another chance Taka and you can show your brother... You can show Sarafina what your worth really is!.. besides... I helped you stand up to Ahadi didn't I?.. And well, he's not giving you a bit of trouble now... Is he Taka?"
Taka's eyes became wide with anguish as the ghost let out the most malicious laugh.
"...That burning... that hate... I'd never felt before until... That was you?.."
The spirit wrapped his body around Taka
"That is called power my dear boy... and I can give it to you once more. Just let me IN."
The spirit grew impatient by the second it seemed.

oh! You should make a picture with Taka killing Ahadi with (maybe) the spirit behind him. (if you have not already of course.) btw I love this picture. I love the whole story with Taka when its in your hands. You make him have another side to the story, and I like that.

Hmmm who really knows (; When I drew this picture I imagined it just as an evil spirit or demon. Perhaps a legend Rafiki had warned young Taka about? Lots of ideas.

XD I love split personality/demons/manifetations, I have several characters with it and talk more or less the same that you mention here. I love the way you wrote this scene and the way "Scar" is made, grat job as always.

Thanks so much. I might still stick to the thought. Honestly, I had a thought of Taka running into an evil spirit, Rafiki finds out and tries to warn Mufasa and Ahadi before it manifested... neither listened... Ahadi went into one of his violent fits... and Taka snapped... and he was responsible for his fathers death... Just an idea. He finds a way to cover it up of course, but as soon as he comes to can't believe what he's done with his own paws. Murderer. (;

Wow, love the idea. It also gives me the idea that said spirit came from the elephant graveyard, maybe one day he decided to explore without the hyenas. I mean, I doubt that Simba was the only lion to ever go there and many could have died in a gruesome way, so their spirits remained, and a particular viscious one (that could even have a backstory) sees young Taka and decided to "give him a hand" and while Taka is noble and loves his brother, despice his blindness to their father's abuse, and just takes his father's beatings, the spirit that comes has no love for them, so plots to detroy them to save his host. Neither is completly evil. Just revengeful.

I seriously love your Taka/Scar artwork, you always bring so much emotion and story to them! Really love the concept here. Been a Lion King fan since I was nine years old, but I think it's Scar and his untold story that keeps me hooked. Such an interesting character with so many dark secrets in his past that we may never "officially" know...but thank goodness for epic fan arts/fan fictions from talented people such as yourself!
