Description
I'm rather taken with the new wacky retro series, so I had to do a little pix of the central pair!Scaredy Squirrel & David Skunk (C) 2001 Nelvana LTD. Scaredy Squirrel is based on a character by Melanie Watt.

I'm a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal fan of the books, but... is really this Scaredy Squirrel based in the other Scaredy Squirrel?

Well, Melanie Watt did create the character, although the tone of Nelvana's show is *radically* removed from the books. If it helps, she is also a creative consultant on the show!

Then maybe I should watch the show. I had never call my attention, since is not as cute and kind like the books, but I'm big fan of Melanie Watt

I know what you mean. It's a good show, but not a very good adaptation to a wonderful book series. I wish they'd make a move of Scaredy Squirrel to save everything, and make it moreΒ similar to the books. They'd have the same characters as in the show, but also the ones on the books too. I wish Buddy was a more important character in the tv series, since he's important in the books. Also, I find it a little odd how in the show he looks almost anthropomorphic while in the books he's just a squirrel that sometimes wears clothes.

I don't believe I've ever heard of this cartoon... or at least, it doesn't sound familiar. I'll have to check it out later.
Great job on the pic!

Cartoon Network only began showing it literally a couple of weeks ago, so it's new to us yanks. I think there's a few eps on YouTube and maybe Hulu. I admit, I'm enjoying it, but I dig most things done in a retro style.

Besides one camera recording, I can't seem to find any of them on youtube. Luckily, I found some via my friend, mr. torrent. I'm going to check out a couple of episodes. If I remember, I'll get back with you and tell you what I thought of the show.

For sure, it takes something special to improve on the "SpongeBob" formula. Here's hoping the goodness continues.
(*OT--visited your page and saw that you're into "Chucklewood Critters"! I discovered them via the Christmas special. I'm still rifling through a DVD of theirs...)
