Description The full picture of the messer. It's a more civilian design compared to the usual messers of the 15th century. The semi-circular cutout at the base of the blade allows the user to finger the quillons thus getting much more tip control. The back of the blade is decorated with filework.
Specs
Full length: 0.8 meters
Weight: 0.65 kilograms
Point of balance: 120 milimeters from quillons on blade
Distal taper: 4mm at blade base, 1.8mm at point of percussion
Edge profile: shallow hollow grind on long edge, flat grind on back edge (from end of filework to tip)
Materials: 1050 spring steel tempered to 50 HRC, railroad track, bone, copper wire.

I'm liking this messer.

The blade design looks unique as well as the quilllons.

A fantastic one, indeed. Not only beautiful but deadly as well. It was great to hold it in my hand, even despite that it's not exactly the type I'd like for myself.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
There would be better steels, but I think plain old spring steel (properly 1050) has the best price/quality ratio, at least here.
I finished the carving, repolished and sold it - it started as a keeper, but it seems that it's too light and too... fine for me. It ended up at one of our female fighters, and I started a new messer for myself, which will be much better suited for me.
