How do you change the layer from above to below?

I've got a questions - I'm having a problem. You see, when I drag the layer underneath the lineart layer and try colouring, nothing shows up...

perhaps your not clicked on the right layer or maybe it is invisible, or their is also a brush that looks like the paintbrush but has a tiny swirly arrow, make sure youre not clicking that by mistake. Hope that helps alittle. ^_^

Hey there! We're a brand new horse club looking to assemble the best equine tutorials on Deviantart into one place. Since we are so new, our gallery is essentially empty, and we were wondering if you would be interested in adding this tutorial to our gallery? Full credit and a link to the original will be provided. We are not looking to personally benefit from your hard work, we are looking to merely bring together all the equine resources in one place to benefit both beginner and expert artists not only with the best tutorials, but with the best community support when it comes to improving upon equine artwork.

Whether you decide to accept our decline to add this tutorial to our gallery, we hope at least that you will visit our page and consider becoming a member yourself, and if you decline, allow us to add this remarkable instructive tool to our favorites. We sincerely appreciate your time and effort in trying to help other horse artists, and we hope to see you around the community!

Sincerely,
~Equine-Art-Reference

Fantastic method.
The only comment I have is that if you fix the base coat as you did, you can group the shading layers to the base coat so that they will automatically be comfined to the area the base coat covers...if that made any sense.

Ah, you probably knew that already. Nevermind. ^^

YAY!!!! thanks Chels^^ just one question, does the high-lighting go on the same layer as the shadding?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

stableblondy In reply to jennyshep5 [2007-03-20 22:22:01 +0000 UTC]

no, each time you choose a darker/lighter shade, it goes on it's own layer. But if you like, when you're done with the shadeing, you can merge the layes down until you have one layer for dark shades and one for light.
