Description
The annual Best of Baltimore was a hot ticket. I'd just gotten back from New York and I was struck by how the creme de la creme of my fair city could barely match any given bar on the lower east side of Manhattan.A friend gave me a ticket, but by the point I showed up they were just letting anyone in regardless of invites or social status. I recognized a lot of people milling around. Most were the kind of hipster I tried to avoid at bars and clubs. I like to think the feeling was mutual.
The comic above best summarizes the experience. The brief chat that follows an accidental recognition. I left soon afterwards.
The food was well worth the trip, however, and I'd go to a future Best of Baltimore just for another taste.
p.s.
The first panel really doesn't look like me, bu the last does.

Nice. You really got the awkwardness of the conversation down. And the inkwash effect on the people in the background is perfect.
