Fitness Model Kim Klein suits up in space gear and the cosmos will never be the same again...Done in-between pages for my good buddy and partner-in-crime Ian Ascher who is still one of the best writers I've ever had the pleasure and honor of working with. Course now he's going all Hollywood on me so I gotta check him and keep him grounded.
Not too much time was spent on this. I really love to do these character studies quickly and keep alot of the initial inspiration and energy on the page. Besides comics aren't stew and hesitation kills.
I thank the great Wally Wood for the inspiration and if you don't know who I'm talking about and you're "into" comics get the heck off my DA page! 
Pencilled loosely with an F lead then inked with Microns and my Brushpen. I slapped the colors on with my trusty Prismas and away we go. If you want to see the inked lines sans color (no I'm not drunk) go check out my blog for that and other goodies.
Okay folks, back to the drawing table...

Great combination of Retro and Modern. Definitely has a Wood-esque feel. Slightly reminiscent of his Iron Maiden.

Iron Maiden from the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents book was actually an influence when I created the visuals for DIVA-X from the DIVAS (know being printed as the IRON SIRENS from DigitalWebbing.com, ZOMG!) with a pinch of Dr. Doom thrown in for flavor.

no worries. tbh i should have put more effort in and explained about how the retro-raygun is actually the best thing about the 50's. oh, that and the evil geniuses with robot minions and well-pampered mustaches.

Thanks! It's alot harder to draw a space-girl outfit than I first thought. I had her wearing this big classic bubble helmut but opted to leave it out in the end.

For your penance Google the heck outta Wally Wood and learn as much as you can. Particularly his 22 Panels That Always Work and his EC work.
It's awesome stuff to look at and he was a talent beyond measure. So do yourself a favor and check him out and you can still be on my page, deal?

Good on ya! People can argue the significance and impact of older creators till time's end but Wally Wood is one of those, much like Eisner that is just all around solid in every capacity.
