*facepalm* then I read this other reply haha... I just mentioned happy accidents XD But in my other reply I was thinking about where the colour is going rather than what colours were being used. Do you use scraps to practice different blends to see what works?

As I mentioned in the other comment, it's more about knowing what works through experience and trial and error. I do try out colors on scraps more to see how they'll take to the paper I'm using as sometimes that affects what your final dry colors will look like or to try out new stuff if I don't want to take a chance in not liking it for the final but not usually.
No worries, that's the beauty of all this stuff-until the lights go out for that final time they'll be here forever.
