I never really had much of a history with Invader Zim as a kid, in fact I didn't end up getting into it until 2021 (yeah I missed out, but better late than never). I definitely do not regret it as this is easily one of the funniest and best written shows ever made. It definitely pulls out all the stops as to what a Nicktoon can do and most of the characters are hilarious. Zim and Dib's cat and mouse game is hilarious to watch especially since the common populace is either too stupid to see it or they just don't give a fuck. Of course there's also Gaz who is amazing in every word she says. Most of the show's best roasts come from her. Of course we also have GIR who is just an awesome wild child kind of a Meatwad on crack if you will. Everything about this show is AMAZING from the animation to the designs to the writing all of it. It's a shame it got cut short, but I'm glad I got to see it. I would also recommend Enter the Florpus, it's funny as hell and it shows the show hadn't lost it's edge.
