Description
A commission for *megoomba of her characters Ellurielle and Relnero from my DnD campaign, The Chronicles of Iryshka. This was drawn in a random spurt of magical-ness. I literally sat for several hours and just drew, scanned, touched up, drew again, scanned again, etc. It was awesome.
The original idea fell a bit short, but I like the way this turned out. Lots of symbolism, we'll leave it at that. And OMFG wings!! Gahh!!!!
OMG SPARKLES!
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot, I posted some progress pictures of this in my brand new art tumblr (here is the [link] ). I'm hoping to keep updating that thing with sketches and works in progress, so feel free to stop by and check it out!

Oh Em Gee....
Excuse me for a moment.... *SCREAMS WITH GLEE~~* This is so BEAUTIFU!! Oh man, where do I start? The composition is AWESOME. You've made it symmetrical without making it boring, which can happen really easily when working with symmetry. But the positions of Ellurielle and Relnero complimented with the almost Mucha-esque shapes and framing really makes it work! Then there's the colours GOODNESS THE COLOURS. I was a little worried when you said you were shading in grayscale (totally typed 'gayscale' on accident... HURRRR) before colouring since that can make a picture looked washed out, but it gives the whole picture a sort of.... cold/cool feeling which really works well! I especially love the use of cool blues on Ellurielle and the warm purple-ish blues in the background! Top it off with Nero in all his golden and black glory between them? Looks freaking AWESOME. Oh and then there's the wings! I freaking LOVE how you render wings! How you give them such a unique shape! I might adopt that some time too... HMMMMM~~
AUGH I COULD GO ON AND ON AND ON ABOUT HOW AWESOME THIS PIECE IS. ITS GORGEOUS. THANK-YOU FOR DOING IT FOR ME. I LAV YOUUUUU~~

Actually I find that, after staring at gray scale for so long, when I slap colors over it the color looks almost... neon! Like, it seems really bright and eye popping. Although I can see where "washed out" can happen and I think that's why a lot of people might start in grayscale cause that's the effect they're looking for. /shrug
Glad you like it!
