Perhaps this could be under photojournalism, as it sorta is in a way
It is also just art to me that is miscellaneous. Either way.... My B/F has his own video production company and is always contracted to work for the cities local college fire fighters. He goes and video tapes their training in order to show at presentation. There are usually a few a year so he goes out and gets in tunnels with night vision and all these enclosed spaces that would make me entirely too clostrophobic. However, this was the first time I was invited, as it really is the first time I have not had to work during a shoot. So I took some shots, and was actually pretty impressed with the full size quality my camera produced. I, however, am against the upload of 2000 in resolution shots on DA. So you'll have to do with a 700. I have many of them, perhaps if you like I will submit more than just one. But repetition is what killed the watchers you know...so who knows!

I certainly wish I never have to be in a situation depending on firefighters x.x But this picture totally rocks. He looks so amazingly selfconfident!!! Almost like he's leaning into the fire o.O This is seriously awesome work, I don't know what else to say than that really

wow, what an amazing image. the colors and tones are simply wonderful, and the composition..wow. really diggin the symmetry. so much emotion in this shot, even if it wasn't necessarily intended. really wonderful.
the only complaint i have (and it is a minor one) is that the ground isn't exactally flat. it's slightly angled, and it seems to me that a more level ground lends itself to this image. nothing a simple little rotate in photoshop couldnt fix. but either way, that certainly won't keep me from faving this. =]

yes I know the ground is a bit unlevel, and it isn't because I wasnt sturdy, I was using a tripod, but because of the angle in which I had to take it at, which was off to the side. I don't want to PS it because it is one of the first photos with no leveling no PS work, just straight from the camera, that I actually liked. But you are right, I thought about that for along while and perhaps someday I will do it. I thank you though for the fav and constructive criticism

::nodnod:: i definitely understand the pride that comes from having an image you dont feel like you need to photoshop at all. and like i said, it's not that big of a distraction. it probably would be if it was hanging in a square frame with all the perpendicular and parallel lines that come from the frame and the matting, but maybe that's just me. =]
