As you may already know, I love Labyrinth, and looking back at my gallery for this awesome film the other day I realised I only had a quick sketch version of Sir Didymus and I really needed to do a proper picture to celebrate this loyal and loveable character.
So, without any ado whatsoever, we have our heroic companion.
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 9 colours.
His eye was done with ivory, dark sepia, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
His eye patch was done with warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
His snout was done with warm grey 1, warm grey 3, warm grey 4, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
His mouth was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 4, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
His face was done with warm grey 3 and warm grey 4.
His ears were done with white, warm grey 3, warm grey 4, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
His facial hair was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3 and warm grey 4.
His tail was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3 and warm grey 4.
His hat was done with warm grey 4, warm grey 5 and warm grey 6.
The plume was done with white, warm grey 2 and warm grey 3.
His shirt was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
His gauntlets were done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
His trousers were done with warm grey 1, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
His staff was done with white, warm grey 2, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 6.
The bridge, over which none shall pass, was done with white, warm grey 1, warm grey 2 and warm grey 4.
The trees from the Bog Of Eternal Stench were done with white, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
Finally, the sky was done with white, warm grey 1 and warm grey 2.

Completion time: 21 hours, 51 minutes
