This picture caused me incredible trouble to come up with a background and title- I had no clear idea of what this picture would look like from the start. Mechanical flying-bird! Looking at ~artbytheo 's awesome backgrounds lately for inspiration- or rather, his amazing method of developing backgrounds from a few abstract strokes. You should check out his tutorial. <3Howl's Moving Castle is one of my all time favourite movies. Finally did a fanart, after trying to make myself redo Howl for a couple years.

Ah I love it. Howl's Moving Castle is one of my all time favorites. You did a great job with this. I love the fabric of his coat flaring out like that. And the one arm turning into his bird form is definitely a nice touch. His belt is so cool. I want it. This image is wonderful. Definitely a favorite!

He must be wishing for some rails to hold on to, by the looks of it X3 But I suppose if you can fly at will, it doesn't worry much-- except he'd have to buy a new suit of clothes.

a heavy shadow can be good, as is depicts more of a realistic type of theme, but i dont think its working here. its excellent coloring, and it has a kind of glow to it, which is one of the reasons i like your work, but i think this particular picture is just dark, too dark. :3

Thanks for the crit! The shadows to the lower right I think are far too heavy (as well as a few around the back of the machine itself, considering one section is very highlighted). I might consider going back to lighten up the shadow, or adding more light- though I'm very bad when it comes to going back and fixing pictures. xD
