Snowanna and Adorabeezle convinced the other kids to try a different kind of race. c:And also I wanted to draw Vanellope playing and having a good time with the other kids. She wanted it so bad. ;^;
Winter Challenge
(On a side note, Tobi scolded me for drawing Rancis wiping out but was unconcerned that he's about to cream Jubileena. I SMELL FAVORTISM.)
(Also, how did I not notice how freaking cute Snowanna is before this. I mean even among Sugar Rushers.)

I actually think the mini-scene playing out in the background between Rancis and Jubileena may be my favorite part; Jubileena's "bwuh?" face is too perfect, and the way you so perfectly capture that slow-motion disaster about to unfold is really effective comedy.
The whole scene has a good, enjoyable energy to it, and you do a nice job of creating a sense of depth from how close-up each racer is to the viewer. I also definitely appreciate the individualized sleds, from color to style; helps keep up the "Sugar Rush" racing motif. ^_^ Best of all, the little interactions-Vanellope snow-drifting Taffyta who is amused at the gesture, Adorabeezle and Snowanna sharing a slightly more competitive moment-help underline how much this is Vanellope getting to have a good, enjoyable moment among friends. It gives the pic exactly the emotional satisfaction I think you were looking for, and I dig it a lot for that. ^_^
As for Snowanna, I think the fact that she's only in the movie for a combined total of, like, half a minute of screentime might've been a factor in not noticing her cuteness until you got to work with it up close, but that's just my theory. X3 <3

X3 I can accept that theory. I noticed, say, Minty Zaki because her name amuses me and who doesn't love a giant hairbow... but the only thing I really picked up from Snowanna is her admittedly glorious frocone. Then I started looking at references for this and... my god look at this baby~
And thanks - that little background bit was one of the first things that HAD to happen once I decided on Sled Rush (originally it was going to be Candlehead, but I decided she was way far back because she has to stop and relight every time powder puts her candle out, so Jubs got the honor XD). I also had a lot of fun just looking at pictures of sleds - sometimes gathering refs is half the fun of an image! And I'm really happy the interactions carried well <3

Exactly; with her minor role and limited screentime, about the only thing Snowanna has going for her that CAN be noticed at a glance is the (agreed, glorious) 'fro. Once you settle down for a minute and really look her over, you start to see everything else about her, so it's no wonder that's when she really clicked for you. ^_^
