Had an urge for the first time in a LONG time to do an oekaki. Had to register again at oekakicentral.com since I think my account expired XD Forgot how much effort you have to put in just to get semi-smooth lines >,< I'm tempted to redo this in my normal paint program.Ah well... this kind of popped together. First I was going to do the three of them as chibis, but Harry was taking the spotlight in the sketch and I decided to just do him. Wanted to do something cute though and ended up with the love potion (maybe because I watched Love Potion #9 yesterday? ^^ ). My favorite thing about this is his expression.

Ooo, a character I know!
I'm still not 100% sure what oekaki is, but there's a nifty thing on [link] where you can see how ppl drew stuff. All you get is different line widths & a smallish amount of colors, no funky tools or anything. And you'd be amazed at the coolness some of them come up with. One guy did a damn near perfect version of the Mona Lisa, somehow. O.o

Oh yeah, it's HARD to get anything out of monsterland that doesn't look like something an 8 year old drew. Mostly because it saves the way you drew stuff, so if you draw for longer than a half hour everything you drew might get erased or otherwise bug out. And the site's been down for a while anyway because the guy's hard drive crapped out.

Thanks! I'll have to check that out. Oekaki is basically just art done online at an oekaki board---there's two to three different kinds of basic basic paint programs you can use (maybe two layers and a couple extra functions). Usually they're done in one sitting and turn out rough (takes extra effort to make things smooth and nice >,< )

(sorry... most of my old comments got pushed to off the screen and I'm only now just seeing some of them again XD) -- it's really not that hard. Search "Oekaki board" on google and there are TONS of boards. Some more active than others, some geared toward certain subjects. There's Oekakicentral.com which is the largest place I know of with many sub boards. It's a program intergrained in the website that you paint in (far better than MS paint, poorer than any other paint program), but you submit it and it goes to the board where other members comment. ^^
