MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR FoE: CHAPTER 41

Fluttershy and Angel Bunny were in Canterlot when the pink cloud was released. As her final act of generosity and love, Rarity managed to teleport them into the Everfree Forest, sparing them the horrors of becoming Canterlot ghouls. Unfortunately for Fluttershy, she encountered killing jokes in the Killing Grove, which later transformed her into a full-grown weeping willow and forced her to watch her world wither and die as a result of the magic she created. Angel Bunny apparently stood guard over Fluttershy until he was turned to stone by a cockatrice. The killing joke's "joke" was based on her statement years ago "I'd like to be a tree.", granting her wish in the most cruel way possible, placing her on a hilltop, able to see the damage she had unwittingly caused for centuries, unable to look away. Luckily, (in the most loose of terms) Fluttershy was restored to her natural form, though the mental damage took more than a potion to fix, for she had been insane by her years of isolation, but has been healed.
