Base: [link]In my headcanon, the good doctor is not a time lord, nor an alien, but by no means a normal pony. You see, he is the leader of a group of ponies called The Knights of Time. branded with the symbol of their leader, [link] , they are divinely chosen to control time. That means they are born with their cutie marks, their destiny is to search through time, fixing what should not be. Dr. Whooves commanded them, ordered by King Tempus himself.Any pony with the mark of an hourglass is taken in, trained to protect the innocent, and travel across time. He currently is retired, but has given the helm of leadership to his son, DJ Whooves (Coming Soon).'Also, his full name is Time Turner, but his last name is whooves, and he has a doctorate in time travel.

I like your head cannon but I gonna tell my idea with your headcannon : I think That he is a clone of the real doc who left a clone of himself when he discovered that it was time to go , he did this so his friend wont miss him .....

Just because he's a pony version of the doctor doesn't mean he fits in to the universe perfectly and that I can take an original twist on the basic concept. >_> nothing about him being exactly like the doctor besides the tarsus.

No, he was an incidental filler pony intended for use in crowds so the background wasn't empty, who happened to have a hourglass as a cutie mark because it was one of the filler cutie marks. Someone decided he looked a little like David Tenant and they started calling him Doctor Whooves, and it became popular fanon that he was the doctor, but it wasn't entirely canon, even if they gave him a filler role in a tie and near an hourglass. Then, the trading cards called him Time Turner, and made a small nod to Doctor Who in the description, but no conclusive evidence that he was the doctor. Then merchandise and licensed drawings came out calling him Dr. Hooves, and depicting him with the TARDIS, and several nods to Doctor Who creature. Yes, he is tied to Doctor Who, and he has elements of Doctor Who, but there is no conclusive canon saying "This stallion is exactly like the Doctor, and he has no unique qualities to him besides being the doctor"

Of course he's a time lord/time pony. He's based on the Doctor from Doctor Who, who is, of course, a time lord. That's just... not the point of his character.
