"Dakota save Sam!"Just something ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE I found while re-watching the ROTI Finale. When the laser squirrel fires its laser at the stands, Dakota instinctively grabs Sam in a bear hug to shield him while jumping out of the way.

And I love that it's more than just 'first person to treat me good is the one I end up with', she had more friends than she realized; Dawn may have been intrusive and overstepping her bounds (as is her want), but she was trying to interact with her well, Zoey was naturally a bit scared because who can expect a person becoming a giant monster, but she really did do her best to be friends with Dakota even through the hardest part.
Sam's the one who wouldn't ever abandon her for any reason.

I liked how zoey felt really guilty about voting dakota off (often makes me wonder if they HAD managed to boot off scott, how dakotazoid might have effected the game from then on)

i mean, she felt guilty because it's a situation that sucks for Dakota that she had no way out of, y'know? I don't like people who blame her for voting for Dakota because she had no choice in the matter as to who she could vote off given what she knew.
I'd like to know that too~

you know, come to mention it, I think that alone would make an AWESOME what-if scenario.
like say if by some techicallyity it was DAKOTA won the challenge for the maggots, ruining scotts plan.
like you could technically say she might have won that challenge because SHE was the one who got sam and gwen out of their underground "prison"
forfeiting Jo's efforts and causing her and lighting to lose.
I mean Chris has allowed such technicalities before right...
you know what I mean?
of course I'm kinda stuck as to who on their team would get voted off, they are literally a team of two members, it would probably come down to some sort of tie-breaker
but whoever is left behind would have to deal with a pretty large team of maggots with a member who thanks to her unfortunate mutation might give them a DISTINCT advantage.
(whether or not sam would be part of the maggots as a "reward" is another thing entirely, but if he did, things would get interesting)
what could you imagine happening?

i mean, it just sounds like you could really spin a tale; I don't think Dakota should win, though. It's a bit unfair to the other contestants who are handicapped compared to her, and she's already an heiress. the million would be nothing to her. It's just a question of who instead wins rather than Lightning.

Basically yes.
but isn't it cute how she just grabs him immediately? Her first instinct in an explosion isn't her hair or her looks (like it would be pre-mutation) it's entirely about saving Sam.
