Description
This isn't my project, but in preparation for it. Don't try to find the Crayola Masterbox. It's not for sale at any store. I made it myself out of two Crayola 120 boxes and two Crayola 64's. It has a magnetic catch and I'm going to cover the outside of the box with my own package design. It holds 336 crayons! Woo hoo!Related content

Five-year-old me just fainted in glee. Current me will probably join her. That... that is a thing of beauty.
(I bought my first art tablet a couple months ago, and having EVERY COLOR EVER at my disposal is pushing a button in my psyche that hasn't been touched since elementary school. EVERY COLOR EVER.)

Doesn't that just make you want to squeal? When I first saw the color picker on a computer, I practically went into a color coma. 24 million colors? Wow.

You had every right to be ecstatic. Receiving 120 crayons is akin to a religious experience. Which might explain my own problem of losing whole hours of my life staring adoringly at my crayon box with a glazed look.

You should totally mail them and tell them to make it!
Who knows, they just might? AND THEN YOU'D BE A MILLIONAIRE!

It wasn't that hard to make, you know. All you need is the parts, some glue and dogged determination. Also, some mental illness.

You're welcome. Anyone who had the patience to sort all those cayons is a person that I need to emulate.

I'm glad you like it. I have loved working with the crayons. My students are all mind-blown that I am using crayons at all. Within a couple weeks, I will have my crayon art posted. The colors are so beautiful that I sometimes just sit and gaze at the color guide reference sheets I made for myself. Lots of color squares. Oooooo...colors...

One of the things I like about my current exploration, even though it can be a bit scary to start, is that I don't know the rules (formal training sort of thing.) Anything is possible...it makes me wonder when is it that people decide you can no longer play with this or that? Like one of my friends on YouTube says...it is often when you are playing that happy mistakes happen. I thank the source for color! Looking forward to seeing your creations.

The secret to real play is a lack of self-consciousness. It is hard for an adult to achieve that, but it is a blessing when it occurs.

By the way, I have been really impressed with the color saturation of the crayons. My eyes just want to lick 'em.

Mr. Asay told me that only a few people would sort all those crayons, and that the other two were locked up somewhere.
