Description
Step by step tutorial on how I made "DJ - Col7". I wanted to make a tutorial for a long time and today seemed right.Final piece: [link]
Like I say above, since different people use different programs, it won't all be the same and I tried to make this so that traditional artist can also use this.
If I fail, then sorry.

Oh yeah... and any tips on drawing circles? I suck big time with circles. Straight lines are my thing. I draw a lot of objects because I'm better with lines and geometric. Rarely can I do anything that involves the flowing features of living things (not even simple drawings. which I find very strange...)

Well, no ones good at perfect circle. I just try as best as I can, then I change deform it on the program I use to the best shape, then I make a better circle over the circle.

I understand and can do this method of drawing... but for some reason I'm just better if I start drawing rough sketches of the features first. I always seem to draw worse when I start by making the wire frames and stuff. (And I STILL haven't uploaded a majority of my work cus I'm self-conscious... and also considering nothing I've made is more than 60% done...)

I bounce between the two methods. Each works just as good.

Lol I just draw a circle for the head, start with the chin, and draw the rest of it. I tend to disregard things like this, but that only happens when I have something else to look at. When I draw other crap, I do it differently.

Wait, you use SAI? HOW DO YOU MAKE THE BACKGROUND TRANSPARENT!?!?

Yeah, I use SAI. When you save a picture as a .png file, it should ask you if you want it saved as 24 p-something, or 30- something (each pixel has opacity) Check the 30-something one, that should save it with a transparent background.

Nice ^.^
I'd wondered how you did it Looked so clean I thought you must have vectored them all then tried vectoring them XD I learned that I fail at vectoring.

I still have no idea how to vector things.

Basically, instead of using other tools, you make pictures using the pen tool. The result is an image that can be scaled/zoomed to any level you want without any loss of quality
