Well, if you are referring to the original black and white film by Fritz Lang, then yes, the robot's name is Maria.
If you are referring to Tezuka's works which came after Lang's, the robot's name is Michi in his manga and Tima in the 2001 feature film.

Oh my gosh!! This is beautiful!! Amazing coloring work on this, Stealthy! It looks like it's right out of an anime! Seriously, it looks like a cel... (or, technically, a cel on top of a cel on top of a cel) Beautiful work with the light, highlights, and shadows! They work very nicely together! Shoot, I wish I had an eye for color like you do! How do you do shadows/highlights so nicely, and you have a million different ways of doing it, too! I'm impressed!
