Description From the Battletech supplement "Battletpack Fourth Succession War", FASA, 1998.
For some reason I no longer have the original for this one, and I barely remember drawing it. Looking at it closely though, I'm pretty sure it was inked by Jim Nelson.

This is great artwork!

And it features one of my favorite mechs, the insane and yet appealing Hatchetman.

I do not doubt it.

I love to write a good dialogue or emotion-driven scene, but, honestly, I do love to pen down a good action scene. They can get incredibly fun to make.

"Why, oh why, am I piloting a machine with no arms?

"...oh yeah, this pile of junk has been in my family for 200 years and we've always used it. And this is the first time we've run into close combat!"

Great 'snapshot' image. It's like a freeze-frame from a movie.

Thanks! I don't think I ever did enough 'middle of the action' illustrations. More often than not, they were a bit too 'posed'. But the energy in this one definitely seems to have worked...
