Description
From the "Battletech Compendium", FASA, 1994.Another DuoShade drawing that has decayed and faded over the years, so this is a scan of the printed version, as opposed to my now-blotchy original.

Thanks! I haven't done any illustration for any games in a lot of years. Today I work in film, and most of my art is limited to storyboards and concepts for my own (or friends') films...

This was always one of my favourite images from the Compendium. Glad I still have my well-used hardcover copy
Well done!

Thanks! I'm actually very proud to have a monogrammed limited edition of the hardcover, with my name in silver right on the front! It was such a nice thing for the guys at FASA to do for their writers and artists. They were a great company to work for, and always gave me maximum creative freedom.

Never liked the Cataphract until I saw this in the BT Compendium, then I sudenly became a fan of the machine. You did a great job giving the mech a sharper look closer to it's Marauder forefather and gave it a great dynamic pose. Honestly one of my all time favorite pieces of BT art.

Thanks so much! I think a lot of the old mech designs just needed a bit of love to make them shine.

Great work. Clean, cool, and action packed. It really begs the viewer's mind to pick up the animation from this frame.

Thanks! That was really about the time in my work when I was *finally* starting to get a good sense of motion, and my figures were looking a lot less stiff...

Great drawing but I've never thought the Cataphract as a good looking 'Mech...

You're not the only one. Personally, I both like and dislike it, but above all, I respect the firepower.
