I love mech weapons. The only thing better than two giant robots smacking the crap out of each other is two giant robots smacking the crap out of each other with giant melee weapons. Though there's an awful lot to be said for the Highlander Burial as well.

The No-Dachi is a particular favourite of mine, but I'm a Kurita fangirl so I'm biased. Though there's also a lot to be said for charging a light 'Mech while you're in an Atlas. Looks like Team Spider is blasting off again!

Of course, if you're going to run around in an Atlas knocking things down, you'd better have a decent Piloting skill. There is nothing more sad/hilarious (depending on your perspective) than an Atlas flailing around on the ground like an overturned turtle...

A few days ago I was running a game which saw one of my Crusaders go down to a blown Piloting roll and a damaged leg actuator.
The next turn, the pilot tried - and failed - to get up again. Twice. He even managed to damge the leg again so much, it was torn off. Embarrassing!

Yeah, if your Piloting isn't the greatest then falling over is tough, especially in a heavy 'Mech. I've fallen over in my Panther and been able to get back up, but when I fell over in a Dragon, I pretty much totaled the 'Mech trying to get up.
