Concept art for season III of Reboot. I don't even remember if they stuck with this plotline, but at one point they were going to introduce a detective-style character, who would act like a friend but later turn out to be Megabyte in disguise.Related content

Ray did kind've say he'd stay in stay in Mainframe with Mouse, and I don't remember his position in the city being noted later on... Oh dear, in our quest for the missing Frisket and Scuzzy, we forgot to track Ray!
My ReBoot conspiracy theory sense is tingling.

She did conveniently forget to pack her katana around her ankle at the wedding...and was responsible for his code warping in order to become a shapeshifter in the first pl- oh god stop me!! Dx

And she managed to get super-close to all of the main cast and have them trust her completely. All with the aim of bringing them down from within for her true master.

What *SCOm1359AP said; the "My Two Bobs" movie/arc. Though I think MegaBob was originally trying to trick his way into the Supercomputer (and downplay the real Bob), rather than marry Dot, but when things swung that way he ran with it. (It's a little hard to say, though, since season 4 suffered so much from plot compression.)

What's with the weird chastity belt thing and harness. O_O Never would have pictured him to be a nervous chewer. Toothpick madness!
Also, this looks like Ray Tracer. That was my first impression, despite the title. Weird concept, but it looks like the design would've been a cool idea for a bounty hunter/deletionist detective of sorts!

They kept the idea of Megabyte in disguise, but that's about it. The second half of season 4, Megabyte returned from the Web with Trojan Horse powers. He was disguised as pre-season 3 Bob, claimed the real Bob was a copy, and tried to marry Dot.

Actually (and this is kind of a fine distinction), I think MegaBob wasn't originally trying to marry Dot, he was trying to trick his way into the Supercomputer and/or downplay or eliminate the real Bob. He did offer to "return" to the Supercomputer just before Dot kissed him. Once she did, though, he ran with that.
I could be wrong, of course. It's a little difficult to tell people's motivations in season 4. Darn episode cutbacks.

That does make sense, but Megabyte seemed more interested in making the Mainframers' life hell than anything. He returned to Mainframe in Season 4 through a portal. If he can set a portal to Mainframe, why not the Supercomputer? Not to mention that whole diatribe in the last episode about revenge.

Ray made the portal. And remember, in season 3 they had to find just the right tear to create a portal from the Web to Mainframe; it's probably the same with the Supercomputer. Insisting on going there instead of Mainframe while posing as Bob would probably have been suspicious.
Not denying the idea that he was manipulating/picking on them, though. I think he was mostly biding his time while he did so, looking for opportunities to access the Supercomputer/eliminate Bob/whatever else presented itself, rather than actively pursuing any one thing.
