Thanks! Yeah, it's the challenge of doing sci-fi design that's set too close to the present day. I know William Gibson found that the present basically caught up with the future in his books, so they're not really even sci-fi anymore...

I remember reading Dad's old sci-fi books with their "Amazingly small" computers that only took up a single room and could calculate a moon launch in only a DAY!

Heh, true enough. My dad likes to tell the story of the day when they installed 1 Meg of RAM in the computer at the Naval Postgraduate school in the early 70s. Everyone was so excited, and as you say, it took up a whole room!

Guy in my old RPG group was the first computer tech at the major company in town.
They practically had to modify a building for the punch card machine. State of the art back then. He retired from his job in the middle of our campaign.
