One of the main reasons I was holdin back from using painter almost entirely for my digital paints was because I couldnt achaive the clouds I could in PS, so with reference I decided to do a speedy (although it ended up being a longer speedy sky took 45 min - hour and then I added the obligatory small castle). I know its not much for detail on the castle or foreground but it was more about trying to do clouds in Panter.
UPDATE: Changed teh castle to the Lighhouse, I like it better this way I think - cropped it a bit too.

Thanks, I do have a print account actually, I just dont have that one as a print...sometimes I do these things as studies and dont work in a print suitable size.

lighthouse cloud scenes are a very very soft spot for me... this is absoultely gorgeous, the clouds are stunning

Nice adjustment on the foreground. Solitary castles on lonely moors must have at least one light in a tower.

Well done, shades of some of the baroque Flemish/Dutch work! That settles it! I have got to ignore the world after work, and just go do some sky studies! Did you just use stock brushes?

I used a couple brushes - stock camel hair round, the stock airbrush and a custom blender (Felt Pen Variant).

Thanks so much for the brush info, I'll save this in my tut file. Now if I can only figure out why Painter 7 keeps locking up. That's why all of my digital work was done in Photoshop.

Thanks, I was afraid I was doing something wrong. I'm one of those folks who had been using Paint Shop Pro since it was freeware, and then graduated to Photoshop, so Painter's system is really different. Of course, it might help if I wasn't trying to work with multi-layered, 2550 x 3300 pixel files.
