I'm saying I was harsh on Alex for her benefit. Alex would likely have thought I was trying to bully her and steal her wellies as I forcefully pull them off her feet, but I was trying to get them off her faster than she would after telling her to take them off incase she would have argued until it was too late.

It's like... say her house was on fire, and the only one way out was through the top floor window, and she refused to jump, leading me to push her out because there was no time to argue. That would mean I'd rather see her in hospital for one day with a broken arm, than burn to death.
